Our plus12socks made of merino wool particularly like it when they are washed inside out and are not bothered by zippers and jeans rivets in the washing machine. Our tip: use a laundry bag for the socks. After washing, we recommend gently stretching the socks into shape in both directions.<\/p>\n

We are bombarded with color requests almost on a daily basis. People ask for natural colors \u2013 forest green, earth brown, or simply beige. Some want bright colors like neon, others would love pastels. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s not easy being a small knitting business: Yarn companies usually only carry a few standard colors like black, blue, white, and dark gray. If you want a different color, you have to have the yarn custom dyed. Yarn is dyed in vats, and the smaller the vat, the higher the price markup. Economically, this usually only makes sense for quantities of about 50 kilos or more. But depending on the sock style, that makes about 2,000 pairs of socks. That\u2019s a lot of socks. This means we have to think carefully about any new color we may want to add. <\/p>\n

We got lucky with this pink: a company ended up with a little more than they needed, so we snatched it up right away and knitted some cute stripey kids\u2019 socks. <\/p>\n
