Leon is 10 years old and loves to draw. To keep him from getting too bored during the summer break, we asked him to design a new style of children\u2019s socks for us. Leon thought about it for moment, then said, \u201cI have an idea.\u201d We were sitting right next to him: It only took him about a minute to create a finished drawing on the tablet and send it to us by email. The subject line of his email read: \u201cLeon\u2019s super-duper epic stripy socks.\u201d We knew right away \u2013 these socks had to happen. It took G\u00fcnter, our knitting engineer, a week of experimenting before he was able to knit a pattern that looked as much as possible like Leon\u2019s design \u2013 and he did a great job. As soon as the first prototype was finished, strange things started happening: Adults who saw the brightly striped socks were asking if they would be available in larger sizes, too\u2026 So we are now knitting Leon\u2019s super-duper epic stripy socks for both kids and grown-ups. <\/p>\n

Our recommendation: Wash socks in a mesh laundry bag.
