Socks like in great-grandma’s day, only made of wool, with a ribbed pattern and hand-knitted, that was always a dream of our knitting technician G\u00fcnter. He spent his apprenticeship years with wonderfully rattling English Bentley knitting machines that could make just such socks, but have long since been replaced by modern machines. So he was all the more delighted when we were offered a tiptop model from 1970. It took a few months of tinkering to teach the venerable machine our unique plus12socks toe. Now we are ready to knit wonderful ribbed socks from almost 100% merino wool (eco-tex and mulesing-free, of course). <\/p>\n

Description<\/h3>\n99.9% merino (with a trace of elastane in the cuff)\n\nA note on our OLD-FASHIONED socks:<\/strong> The knitting machine that can knit the innovative toe shape of our plus12socks has yet to be invented, so we sew the curve in the toe area of each sock by hand and hide the seam in the plush at the tip. There\u2019s no plush in the toes of socks knitted on our vintage English Bentley knitting machines, so you can feel the seam quite distinctly at first. But no worries: After wearing and washing the socks a few times, the seam becomes softer and softer until it\u2019s barely noticeable. \n

Care instructions<\/h3>\nOur plus12socks made of merino wool particularly like it when they are washed inside out and are not bothered by zippers and jeans rivets in the washing machine. Our tip: use a laundry bag for the socks.
